Portfolio:

There are literally millions of sites on the web but very few success stories. At BlackSun we don't just measure our success by how professional our sites look or by how high they rank in the search engines.

A good idea of how successful a website is in the search engines can be found by using some basic tools such as Alexa.com to get a ranking. Alexa only ranks the top 1,000,000 sites. Black Sun has built dozens of sites that rank as high as 48,000. Other good indicators can be found by checking a site's link popularity. For example another site we have built - Hyperstudy.com has excellent statistics which you can view at MarketLeap.

We measure our success on the complete results we achieve for our clients. This approach has produced an excellent track record of ongoing successes.

Hyperstudy.com – StudyAbroad Enquiry Services

Dale and Simon both worked on this site starting back in 1998 and have continued to work on it since then. The site now enjoys more than 250,000 visitors per month making approximately 10,000 study abroad enquiries to over 200 clients on the system. Simon founded Hyperstudy.com in 1998 and is still a shareholder of the firm.

Edmedia

Dale and Simon both worked on this site starting back in 2003. It is the agency that sells advertising to education institutions worldwide. This site enjoys an Alexa ranking of under 50,000 with many pages having a PageRank of 6 . Simon was the co-founder of this business but has recently sold his stakeholding to the other partners.

SolvePoverty.com

This site has won multiple awards since its launch at Oxford university in 2001 and to date has had several million visitors. The site was one of the first Click and Give sites and is still actively raising approximately Euro 25,000 PA in conjuntion with the Global Junior Challenge. These funds go towards education and scholarships for young social entrepreneurs in developing nations. Whilst the site's design is slightly outdated it has been left this way as we still have people who started clicking 5 years ago coming back every week and we felt it was important not to change the environment.

OrphanIT.com

Over the past 5 years OrphanIT has been at the forefront of a movement towards the integration of business and non-profit ideals. ie the "Business not Aid" approach working in the Global Telecentre field. Black Sun have worked with OrphanIT, which is a multi award winning charity, in developing a range of methods for telecentres around the world to learn and practice outsourcing as way of creating new revenues which help sustain and grow their social businesses.

OrphanIT.org

This is the core non profit site of OrphanIT. They are a capacity building organisation which helps train and mentor young leaders in developing nations to empower them to create and sustain effective social enterprises through the innovative use of ICT for development (ICT4D). Black Sun has worked with OrphanIT on all their web and print needs including the marketing and management systems required to deliver jobs directly to the rapidly expanding global telecentre movement. This site and its programs have been profiled in the prestigious Hardvard Business Review:

The Heineken website profiles current events, product information, bar locator, competitions and offer downloads such as screen savers and rich media games. We managed to double orders within two weeks and greatly exceeded expectations to return initial investment in just four weeks.

Red Cross Australia Website

Drove 200% ROI in just six months and drove Kingwood to outpace the competition by two and a half time industry average growth the following year.

MedFin Finance

Medfin Australia is a specialist provider of asset finance and commercial loans specifically for medical, dental and allied health industry professionals. Returned initial investement in less that 7 weeks and is attributed with generated over $100,000 in additional revenue each year.

SmartMax

The SmartMax telecommunications system allows rich media marketing via telephone handsets. The technology utilises VOIP.

OzBet SMS

The OzBet SMS engine allows wireless betting via mobile phone and the OzBet web site

The Last Resort

The Last Resort is a health and naturopahty clinic in Bondi Beach, Australia. The site profiles all the products and services on offer and allows booking and enquiries.

 

Cedarpines Development

The National Centre in HIV Epidemiology and Clinical Research is one of Australia's leading medical research centres. This website serves as a valuable diagnostic tool for the medical professionals.

People Telecom

The People Telecom SMS services have been integrated into their website so users can configure their preferences for their preferred content.

Barrington Events

The Barrington Events web site profiles the current events for the Barrington area and any associated details. The site also has a real-time booking engine with a CMS backend.

Jord Golf Fashion

The JORD golf fashion wear web site profiles products and service. The seasonal ranges can be viewed and downloaded by approved distributors.

First Accounts

This is a microsite for a client profile on an education network with one of Australia's leading online publishers.

Out of the Blue

This site was built to promote an event. The site included all the relevant details for the event as well as a gallery from past events. A real-time reservations system makes online bookings a breeze.

Crusty Sessions

This site was built to promote events and to serve as an online community for motorcycle enthusiasts.
